To Pursue Beauty

What more is there to life than beauty?

I have had this feeling of trying to fit in with reality. Trying to fit in society and justifying my existence on this planet. I have been having to come to grips with conditioning and old patterns of being.

Each moment is completely fresh but there is this “need” to be doing something. To elaborate, we live in a society of comparison and that means we need to be someone. The mind desperately reaches out to grab any reference for it to provide justification for its being. It tries to rationalize its place in society and schemes in order to better its position. It’s this lifelong process that ties oh so many people down to their suffering.

What if we stripped all these preconceived notions and ideas away. Instead of being involved “personally” we work towards becoming less personal. What if we tried to remove all that mental junk that makes up the “individual”? Such an idea is very radical, and probably the most contrarian course of action to take. Western societies are based on the premise of an individual, our laws, monetary system and societal standards all rely on it. To remove it would be akin to setting off a nuclear bomb on all of civilization, it would be the single greatest threat to modern society. That’s why you won’t see that idea much of anywhere.

Consider the possibilities that would bring, without a person keeping you hostage. Your mind would be saved of the burden of having unhelpful thoughts and feelings. You would be freed of the burden of having to do X activity in order to get Y reward so you can impress Z person. It would be liberation from the misery that has entrapped billions. Its all a matter of getting out of the rat race.

People tout this idea when it comes to finances, “Get out of the rat race, things are better on the other side.” Unfortunately, they forget that money alone won’t get rid of the person who you think you are. Sure your money problems go away but the framework you see reality through is still the same. They will come back to bother you through a different medium. Misery and suffering are not one dimensional. They don’t play nice and they most definitely do not care about your wishes. Their only purpose is to tell you that something is amiss. They are begging you to just look and to ask questions about your conditioning that you have believed to be.

Only problem is that it gets ignored by the person.

We are wearing a mask that is stuck to our face with super glue and its that mask that calls the shots.

Not you.

You can call it the ego, the sense of separation, Maya or simply just the localization of infinite awareness. They are all words.

What we truly are cannot be described through words. Just like beliefs and ideas they are simply tools that we have created to help justify, and anchor the ego in this reality.

Silence is where you will find peace. Without words, ideas, belief, desire and fear. Its here where all false identifications fall away and you can simply allow yourself the pleasure to just be.

Like how conditioning is a gradual process. So is the opposite, it takes time to reverse the process.

I find myself in this place.

Still at the whim of my conditioning but finding respite during periods of silence. All there is to do is follow this perfume of silence back to this place of peace and remain there.

There is no book, video, relationship, substance that will take you back to the silence that you are. Just the recognition of its presence is all that's needed.

The complex made simple.

So simple that nothing needs to be done.

See that the projections of the past and future are ILLUSIONS! They hold no value at all. They are only real if you believe them to be.

You will only ever experience a present moment. You don’t time travel and your memories mean nothing to the now. Memories serve as points of refuge for the ego to clasp to in order to keep the story together. If you cannot let go of memories, then you’ll never let go of the separate person. You’re trying to hold onto a ghost. Save the effort and let go.

You better run from the devil but you’ll only be able to stop when you see that you were never being chased.

Drop the person, and in its place the seed of beauty takes hold. It’s here that you come to rest. You were always here but never took the time to realize it.

Let the river take the ashes of an illusion away.

and rest here.
